Eating, Jumping, Standing, Talking...

Can't believe little ms. Alexandra Marie is nearly 8 months--just a few more weeks! She's come a long way...here's some of her latest tricks and milestones.

• Sitting: She's been sitting on her own for a few months, but now she leans over and is able to use her abs to pull herself back up, she's one strong cookie!

• Standing: She pulls herself up--she was sitting in her baby bathtub the other day and grabbed the lip of the tub and pulled herself to a standing position. Mommy was right there to watch her--those meaty little legs are powerful! She might skip crawling and go right to walking!! Yikes...time to baby proof!
  

• Jumping: Wow, does she like to jump--mostly in her new Exer-saucer (thanks Aunt Andrea!)...and her in doorway jumper--she loves to pull all the toys, push the button on the bus to hear the kids giggle...and of course lick and suck on everything...teething...keeps mommy busy with keepin' them all clean.

• Eating: Ali is eating baby food now...and eating cereal again...yeah!! In fact, she's been eating 3 balanced meals...just this past Thursday, she had breakfast (cereal with bananas), lunch (sweet potatoes & peas), snack (bananas) and for dinner (squash & peas). And today, she's had cereal with bananas--she just loves it--and gobbles it up! Mommy is so proud of her little pumpkin!
  

The whole eating thing wasn't always that easy--in fact, she spent a few weeks or so refusing to eat any baby food (and cereal, she stopped eating at 4 months), she would shake her head from side to side (no, no, no)...but, with much patience and love, she eventually warmed up to it...and is now well on her way to baby food bliss!

Her favorites seems to be sweet potatoes, applesauce, bananas, squash...she's so so on peas, and peaches...I'll be introducing green beans soon. Our pediatrician says to wait 2-3 days after a new food to check for allergies--so, far so good!

She's also been introduced to water, 2-3 oz./day--Nursery Water with Fluoride and Tap Water--she has a big girl sippie cup, but also loves to drink right out of a real glass, with assistance of course.

• Talking: Ali love to jibberjab--and squeal at a very high pitch--and growl--she sounds like Darth Vader--we think she says "hi" and a few other ali-isms...maybe she'll say momma and dada soon...
  

She's growing up, but still my little sweet pea--I still snuggle her like a newborn--though she's gettin' kinda big to cradle, but I still try.
