Ali's just the little traveler, she took her 2nd flight, this time to Alabama, and had both Mommy and Daddy with her this time. This was an extra special trip, as she got to meet Great Grandma Blackwell for the first time...plus, lots of other Blackwell family and friends.
We stayed in a beautiful condo, right on the water, with Papi and Nana, Uncle Jacob and Uncle Jonathon and Aunt Andrea. The condo was technically in Alabama, but just a few miles outside of Florida...in fact, there's a bar called "Flor-Bama."
Uncle Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday on June 13 (Grandma & Grandpa Radke's birthday too!)...the theme was military/camouflage...and Ali loved the camouflage blow-up machine gun.
Ali played with balloons with Jennie (Papi's brother, Mike's daughter)...and tried to fend off kisses from Karson (Jeff & Ashley's son)
Great Grandma Blackwell hosted everyone's stay and hired a chef to cook all our dinners--we were spoiled with southern comfort foods every night...fried chicken, homemade mac & cheese, bread pudding to die for...chicken' dumplings, peach cobbler, steak & all the fixens, pies, desserts...it was all so delicious!
Ali had some of her very first "table food"...she LOVED the mac n' cheese and chicken & dumplings...and peach cobbler...she licked her plate clean...literally!! hehe
Ali had her first experience in a real pool, she just LOVED the water! Aunt Andrea bought her the cutest pink car float, she sat inside and kicked her chunky little legs in the water. She floated in the Lazy River, smiling at everyone.
NOTE: The manufacturer of this "car" floaty and others was recalled on July 2, 2009 - we didn't have any trouble with it in Alabama in June, but will no longer use it due to the recall.
We took her to the beach too, but she hated the sand...so, we didn't stay long. We'll have to get her to warm up to the sand...interestingly enough, Daddy doesn't like sand either...light father, like daughter...hehe.
It was a fantastic trip, filled with lots of wonderful memories--a special thanks to Great Grandma Blackwell for helping to make this happen. We love you so much and miss you even more!
xoxo
